Why Should I Have a Web Page?

If you run a business, a web page is an extremely easy, cost-effective way to "get the word out." Unlike other advertising media, web pages can be updated almost instantly and at relatively little cost.

Personal home pages serve many purposes. Some people just like to see their names in lights (nothing wrong with that!), while others want to send some kind of message or let others share in their special hobbies and interests.

Those interested in genealogy use their web pages to communicate their family lines and research to others. Also, many genealogy researchers use search engines to "root" out specific surnames, and those researchers just may have the information that gets you through that brick wall!

What is a Web Page?

First of all, a "web page" can actually be more than one page. The Word Crafter will design and create a web page for you or your business, whether it be a simple one-page design or a more complex multi-page design. In brief, I will provide you with the services necessary to get your page on the World Wide Web!

Your web page site can reside either on space provided by your current Internet Service Provider (ISP), or I can help you find a home for it. Your page will be tested before uploading to the Web to make certain it looks good in both the Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers.

If yours is a genealogy page, you have the option to include the results of your research through use of a GEDCOM file generated from your genealogy program.
